Chris Martin announces new EP featuring world music stars

Chris Martin has curated a new Global Citizen EP. The Coldplay frontman has put together an EP of 4 brand new tracks that feature artists including Pharrell Williams, Stormzy and David Guetta, Stargate, Cassper Nyovest, Jozzy, Wizkid, Tiwa Savage and Los Unidades which is Coldplay’s new name.

The EP is set to be released on November 30 with all proceeds going towards Global Citizen’s efforts to end extreme poverty as well as improve issues such as gender equality, education, water and sanitation across the world.

Chris, who also curates Global Citizen’s annual live music festivals has spearheaded the new EP which will be released through Parlophone Records and Atlantic Records in the United States.

“It was a real honor to help further the Global Citizen movement by putting together this release alongside Chris and Parlophone. We’ve ended up with so many incredible performers, and we’re all extremely proud of the finished EP. May it be the first of many,”  said Coldplay’s manager Dave Holmes.

The first lead track off the EP, ‘E-Lo’ has been released and is available for fans across all digital platforms. The song features Coldplay (as Los Unidades), Pharrell Williams and Jozzy. It has been released alongside a Nelson Mandela inspired lyric video to mark the South African president’s centenary year.

 

 

The song E-Lo will also be performed live by Chris and Pharrell at the Global Citizen happening on December 2, 2018 at the FNB Stadium in Soweto, Johannesburg.

The Global Citizen Festival brings together top music artists with world leaders to make commitments toward health, gender equality education and other poverty issues. Among other artists expected to grace the Global Citizen Festival stage include star couple, Jay Z and Beyonce, Ed Sheeran, Usher, Pharell Williams, Chris Martin, as well as African musicians Wizkid, D’Banj, Sho Madjozi, Cassper Nyovest, Tiwa Savage and DJ Black Coffee.

The concert will mark the 100th anniversary of the birth of the anti-apartheid leader and Nobel Peace Prize winner, Nelson Mandela who died in 2013.  The 2018 event brings together top music artists with world leaders to make commitments toward health, gender equality education and other poverty issues.
