The Festive season is here and Mombasa Governor Ali Hassan Joho has called upon Kenyans to Visit the beautiful and transformed Mombasa county.
The Mombasa emphasized that this move is aimed at promoting domestic tourism as one of the tools for Building Bridges through fostering cultural exchange.
Earlier this year, the governor started off an initiative aimed which aimed at beautifying the coastal city. The initiative saw the county government cover pavements along Nkrumah Road with the artificial turf normally used in sports arenas.
Some residents were in favour of the idea of plastic grass stating that it looks neater while others opposed the idea in favour of real grass which will not need to be replaced over time.

In a bid to make the city more attractive for tourists, the governor also imposed a colour scheme for all buildings within the city’s Central Business District (CBD).
In a notice, building owners were ordered to paint their buildings a fresh coat of blue and white paint, a move that was strongly opposed to.
Even with this opposition, the county is now beautiful and looks attractive.
As the festive season approaches, I wish to invite all holiday makers to Mombasa. I particularly wish to encourage Kenyans to visit Mombasa and the Coast.
