Few years back in the coastal region the rise of Mombasa Republican Council was the greatest threat to the country. The movement was pushing for an agenda to pull out of Kenya and form their own nation. MRC was basically pushing to make the coastal region independent.
The brains and the person who was sponsoring MRC still remains unclear.
For a number of years they have remained silent. But it seems they were running undercover activities.
More than 40 suspected members of Mombasa Republican Council (MRC) were arrested in Likoni, Mombasa County on Thursday evening.
Likoni Deputy County Commissioner Eric Wamlevu said the suspects were nabbed at Shelly Beach where they were taking an illegal oath.
Mr Wamlevu said the suspects did not have a permit for the meeting.
At Likoni Police Station, the Nation team saw dozens of MRC membership cards that were seized from the suspects by officers.

Action of taming the the push for Pwani si Kenya must be tamed as early as possible to avoid future cases where the situation will be out of hand. If it continues it will destabilize the state of National security and put the country in a wave of division.
