Parents are largely responsible for their children’s behaviour,If parents meet their children’s emotional needs from babyhood, then the children are likely to have high self-esteem, to have developed a conscience and to be able to make satisfying relationships.

Students from Ambira High school in Ugunja Siaya County were caught on video insulting the Education Cabinet Secretary Amina Mohamed and her Interior counterpart Fred Matiang’i.

The students who appear to be at a bonfire taunt the strict interior CSs who guaranteed that exams were conducted under tight security.

In the video clip ,the students confessed to have been involved in exam malpractices and exam cheating.

Early  this year, fire razed a dormitory at the same school leaving students without places to sleep the fire started at about 8 pm as the students attended preps so there were no casualties.

The 130 learners who stayed in the facility lost all their property as Siaya county fire fighters tried in vain to put out the fire.

Its cause was not established immediately but police launched investigations.

In a statement to newsrooms, Ugunja MP Opiyo Wandayi said the incident was highly regrettable.

“It’s a big setback to parents, students and the entire Ugunja community, coming at a time when preparations for KCSE are at advanced stage,” Wandayi said.

He appealed for calm and asked police to carry out thorough investigations and punish the culprits, should it turn out to be a case of arson.

Three schools in the county have been closed for various reasons. They are Ng’iya Girls’, Maranda Boys’ and Maliera Boys’.

Maliera was closed indefinitely earlier on Thursday after students went on strike in a demand for a bus and weekly entertainment.
