Wakamba Wanasoma Nanii! Machakos and Makueni Counties Produce the best schools in KCPE

Ukambani, the land of Kalonzo Musyoka, did very well in this year’s KCPE exams. The region which is part of the former Eastern Province produced the top two best primary schools nationally.

Little known Ikombe Day and Boarding Primary School from Yatta Constituency in Machakos County overcame all odds to emerge the top ranked school nationally with a mean score of 418 marks.

The school which had 95 candidates had only one candidate getting below the 400 marks. That is 399. The best pupil at the school was Rita Mwelu, who scored 441 marks. The top boy scored 439 marks

The County School, from Makueni County followed closely in second position, ensuring that the first two positions went to Ukambani.

Mt. Kenya region is surprisingly missing from the top 10 schools. Davsi Kromwok Academy from Bomet is the only school from the vast Rift Valley.

Kakamega County that has been producing the best candidates in recent years is represented by Fesbeth Academy at number 9.

This year’s best performing boy Rawlings Aketch came from Kakamega Hill School. He tied the knot with Olive Mwea from Riara Group of schools.
