The debate to increase women in powerful positions has been on the trend for quite a while. In the current state of the world women are seen as positive developers in any state. But the big question is should the government create the positions for them or they should be left to struggle in the battle ground to win the positions?

What a man can do a woman can do better. This is the driving force behind the women in leadership positions. This is totally right. Take a look at Ethiopia right now it is under the leadership of a female President. She is expected to be a pillar of change. Most other countries around the globe have had successful female leaders.

In Kenya the constitution has allocated the 2/3 gender rule. This is aimed to calibrate the women in the so called man dominated society,

The President, Uhuru Kenyatta over the weekend was addressing the same matter saying that as a country we need to strive to have more women in powerful positions. The same sentiments were echoed by his Deputy William Ruto. The leaders want women to be involved in pushing forward the agenda for change in the state.

Does this means the constitution has to be further amended to create more spaces for women to ascend to powers? If this is the case then it is pushing for a referendum.

But what is even more satisfying than when they battle out with men, then they emerge as victorious? That is can be the most ideal situation. like other countries women in Kenya should be viewed as vulnerable human beings who only need to be spoon fed, but as potential leaders who can fight to gain the political standards required.
