Police Nab drugs worth millions in Nairobi, GPO

The rate of drug cases in the country is on the rise in two consecutive days there has been reports from the police on how they confiscated drugs.  Kenyans are becoming more creative each day on ways to package these drugs in a manner that is not suspicious. However, the police are beating them in this game.

Earlier this morning, Detectives from the DCI Anti~Narcotics Unit confiscated Heroin & Methamphetamine weighing almost a kilogram & worth millions of shillings at the GPO Nairobi. The drugs were concealed in wood carvings,rolls of thread &Atlas and destined for Greece & China.

The Detectives have already commenced investigations to nab the senders and recipients of the parcels.

The alarming rate at which Kenyans are engaging in drug deals is quite threatening perhaps the result of trying to survive in a harsh economy or even the fact that these are drug cartels that have been running these deals for the longest time.

Two days ago, the police had give report of other drug  cases that they are currently investigating.

DCI detectives seized Miraa consignment(Dried Khat) weighing about 1700Kgs which was concealed and declared as personal effects&ready for export to the United States, France & Singapore no report have since been given on whether the suspects were arrested.

Adding to the news of illegal transportation of Miraa  the police on the same day revealed that they recovered 5,684 long rolls & 316 stones of Cannabis Sativa(Bhang) worth several millions of shillings at Ndara area in Taita Taveta county in an incident where suspects abandoned the car and fled.

Kenyans have applauded the efforts by the DCI Detectives equally asked them to strictly deal with these drug related cases and get the culprits brought to book.
