Man dies after being injected with lethal substance

 

Crime in Kenya has been on the rise not only in Nairobi county but all around the country. Every other day in the headlines is the news of someone dying under the most mysterious and absurd circumstances. Is our socirty going to the dogs? What ever happened to the mere respect for human life?

In Machakos County, a businessman identified as Peter Mwangangi was found dead with his hands tied to the driver’s seat of his car, a black Toyota Harrier, registration KBX 353 F.

The victim, aged 53, owned REXX Bar in Kanyoonyoo near Matuu town. According to preliminary reports, the late Mr. Mwangangi was injected with a lethal substance. His body had blood stains in the abdomen an indication that he might have been pricked with a needle.

Police are yet to establish the contents of the substance that was injected into Mwangangi’s body. Reports from the police indicate that the trader was last seen drinking with friends at his bar in Kanyonyo market.

“It was established that on [Wednesday] between [3pm and 4pm], Mr Mula was with his friends taking beer [in his bar at] Kanyoonyoo market centre. He was signalled out of the bar and told his friends that the caller had requested him for his driving licence in order to drive past a police road block at Kanyoonyoo,” the report says.

Police further state that the businessman had been called by a friend “to help drive through a police roadblock”.

“He told his friends that the caller had requested for his driving licence to enable him to drive past a police roadblock at Kanyonyo. He drove off his car from Kanyonyo and later at around 4pm, the car was seen parked by the roadside near Kasiangove with its hazard lights on and the doors wide open,” the police report reads.

The vehicle was found at Kwasuvu village, Masinga subcounty, by locals who reported to the area assistant chief. The OCS, DCIO, DAPC and Crime Scene analysts from Embu visited the scene to take necessary action.

The body was taken to Matuu Mediance mortuary in Yatta and is awaiting a post-mortem while the vehicle was towed to Masinga police station. Police say that the matter is under investigation.
