The sight of Marouane Fellaini’s coiffured dome coming off the bench has given hope to Manchester United fans where it was otherwise lacking time and again since his arrival at the club.
The Belgian has endured his fair share of stick since his £24m arrival from Everton during the David Moyes era but has dug his heels in and proved a valuable member of the squad there, particularly since the arrival of Jose Mourinho into the dressing room at Old Trafford.
His knack of scoring late, late goals has been of particular worth to the Red Devils, with his ominous presence at the back post enough to strike fear into the most well-marshalled of defences.
It worked the Oracle last week against Juventus, most recently, when even the famed backline of the old lady was given the jitters by Fellaini and his ’fro.
But he may well be in danger of losing those powers after shaving off the do he’s been growing out for quite some time. A picture has emerged on social media of the 30-year-old with a tidier cut, one more fitting for a man of his social standing, your mum might say.
The picture shows him smiling in his United training kit, perhaps looking a bit apprehensive at the wave of response he’s about to receive. It’s started strongly already, so get ready, Marouane.
“Hair one minute, gone the next,” joked one fan on Twitter. “But, but…without the Afro he’s nothing…” said another worried Red.
