AFC Leopards Bosses Sweat as New Coach Makes Fresh Shocking Demands

Ever met a man that demands for favours without giving results for what you already invested in him/her? Such is the story of new AFC Leopards boss Nicola Kavazovic who has demanded that the club to get a new training ground.

The Serbian coach is not happy with the training facility at St. Pauls University, where the team held their first training session on Monday ahead of the new season.

A source privy to happenings at the Den, has confirmed that the new coach now wants the club to get another venue as they prepare to challenge for the title.

“The coach is very happy with the squad but is not impressed with the condition of the pitch at St. Pauls University in Limuru. He has requested that the office gets a new training ground as quickly as possible.

“He is a coach, who wants to win titles with the club and does not want to take chances. He wants the cub management to handle all players in a professional manner and has also promised to deliver a lot of positive results if given a free hand to do his job.”

Meanwhile, team manager Gilbert Selebwa had denied reports that he is on his way out of the club. Selebwa says he was back in the village, reason why he missed the opening training session on Monday.

“I have not received any letter asking me to leave AFC Leopards. I just returned from the village and will link up with the team on Tuesday.”

Kavazovic, who started his coaching career in 1996, was as of July 2-12, the youngest national team head coach in the world. The former Saif Sporting Club tactician holds a Uefa ‘A’ license and currently perusing his Uefa Pro license. The Serb has also coached both Zarkovo, Borac and Resnik youth and senior teams.

He won the AFC President’s cup in 2012 at Istiqlol Dushanbe.

In 2014, he was appointed head coach of the Sri Lanka national football team. Sri Lanka defeated Seychelles 2-1 on his debut – the team’s first ever away win in 15 years.

In 2015 Kavazovic became the head coach of Maldivian champions New Radiant SC.

After a successful season at New Radiant, he accepted an offer from Lanexang United, Laos and became their head coach in 2016.

During the same year, he was appointed head coach of Bangladesh club Saif Sporting Club. With them, he easily won the league after going unbeaten for 16 games.

He then resigned and joined Botswana side Township Rollers. He completed the double in Botswana in 2017, winning the league and Mascom Top 8 Cup. Under him, for the first time in their history, they reached the group stages of the CAF Champions League.
