The Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC) has been haunting former Nairobi Governor Evans Kidero since the time it arrested him in August this year.
The commission has hence linked Kidero to graft claims when he was still in the office as Nairobi City boss between the year 2013 and 2013.
In September detectives from the commission camped at Kidero’s home from 2:00 am, arrested him and later went back to his house to search for cash that could be used as evidence in the case they had put ahead of him.
They went further to launch plans of searching and seizing properties belonging to former Nairobi.
This moved Kidero to sue the commission and it has been a reprieve to him after the court on Thursday stopped EACC from serching or seizing his properties.
While making her ruling, Anti-Corruption court judge Hedwig Ongundi stated that the order will be in effect until she delivers a ruling on the same next week on Tuesday.
Kidero sort orders restraining the anti-graft body from conducting further raids at his home.
In September, EACC detectives raided his home in Muthaiga and later took him to his office on Riverside Drive in Westlands Nairobi, where they mounted a search for documents believed to link him to the corruption charges he is facing.
The former Nairobi Governor has already pleaded not guilty to three corruption-related charges leading to the loss of Sh213 million public funds.
He alleged that the search warrant was obtained in a bid to sustain an ongoing criminal case which he claims is facing imminent failure due to lack of evidence.
When he was arraigned in court the previous month, he pleaded not guilty to a charge of conspiring to commit an offense of fraud and two counts of dealing with suspect property leading to loss of public funds.
He was accused alongside nine others for services not rendered on diverse dates between January 16, 2014 and January 2016.
