One child has been confirmed dead after an explosive device went off in a Children’s home in Isiolo.
According to preliminary reports, eight other children, among them a KCPE candidate who is set to begin exams tomorrow has been injured in the explosion at Victors Children’s Home in Burat area, Isiolo County.
Even though the cause of the attack has not been revealed, it is believed to be a terror attack aimed at sending panic to locals during this crucial exam period.

Tension has been high in the region especially in the neighboring Mandera County. Ethnic clashes between two ethnic tribes Gabra and Borana have left 14 people dead and thousands of people displaaced.
Last week detectives arrested North Horr Member of Parliament Chachu Ganya and Saku legislator Ali Rasso over the Marsabit clashes.
16 schools have been closed in the region and have jeopardized exam preparations.
