Alexis Sanchez has been ruled out of Manchester United’s upcoming Champions League match against Juventus after missing training on Monday.

The Chilean forward was photographed arriving at Carrington but did not take part in the session as Jose Mourinho’s players geared up to take on the Italian champions.

Sanchez appeared as a late substitute during United’s 2-2 draw with Chelsea at the weekend but will not feature against Juventus. Marcus Rashford and Anthony Martial are likely to start out wide instead, with the Frenchman having scored three goals in his past two appearances for the Red Devils.Image result for rashford martial

Marcus Rashford and Anthony Martial are likely to start out wide instead, with the Frenchman having scored three goals in his past two appearances for the Red Devils.

Rashford reportedly picked up a slight knock during the draw at Stamford Bridge but took part in training on Monday and should be available.

As well as Sanchez, Phil Jones and Diogo Dalot were both seen arriving at the Carrington complex but did not train with the rest of the squad.

There was also no sign of Scott McTominay, Marouane Fellaini or Jesse Lingard with all three expected to be sidelined against the Old Lady.

However, Marcos Rojo did take part in the session and is nearing a return to full fitness after being sidelined with a knee problem.

Meanwhile, Antonio Valencia is in contention for a return to the starting XI after being sidelined for the past two matches due to surgery on his mouth.

Ashley Young will continue at right-back if Valencia is not selected, while Luke Shaw will line up on the opposite flank.

Chris Smalling and Victor Lindelof are likely to start at centre-back with Eric Bailly still out of favour while Nemanja Matic should partner Paul Pogba in midfield.

Tuesday’s match will be only the second time Cristiano Ronaldo has returned to play club football at Old Trafford since his departure in 2009, having scored the winner when Real Madrid knocked United out of the Champions League in 2013.
