Pep Guardiola’s Barcelona reign showcased in new detailed documentary

The Barcelona team of the Pep Guardiola team were surely the most impactful of any side in this century and a new documentary is set to give fans more insight about the machinations of that all-conquering outfit upon its release next month.

Following off the back of the success of a fly-on-the-wall type series from Amazon in partnership with Manchester City, ‘Take the Ball, Pass the Ball’ will be a behind-the-scenes look at how the Catalan native revolutionized the team and, in the process, the face of world football.

A four-year spell under his control saw 14 trophies stacked into the Camp Nou cabinets and the documentary will cover how the tiki-taka style that Guardiola honed in order to bring them in was developed.

It will contain interviews with players from the team including Lionel Messi, Thierry Henry and Samuel Eto’o and will also cover themes such as the rise of the Argentine to the status of the world’s best and Eric Abidal’s battle with cancer.

Guardiola, who is now of course in charge of Manchester City in England’s Premier League, himself feature on the film along with his metronomic midfielder Xavi and his captain Carles Puyol.

The film will be available to watch on the 9th of November on limited release and will be available to buy on DVD and download three days later on the 12th.
