Jeff Koinange Attacked After Hosting Former South Sudan General Paul Malong

Journalist Jeff Koinange was bashed by Kenyans online for hosting former South Sudan Chief of General staff Paul Malong.

During his show JKL which airs on Sunday, Koinange hosted the South Sudanese who was accused of having embezzled huge sums of money from his country.

Kenyans online termed the interview as a ‘cleaning’ one to try and salvage the image of Malong.

Malong maintained that anything he did which linked him to the situation in South Sudan was under instructions from the administration

During the interview, he also denied looting South Sudan coffers and stashing the cash in Kenya adding he had no money hidden in foreign accounts.

Malong stated that he did not profit from any position while in government and clarified that Northern Bar El Ghazal was not an oil-producing state and therefore he could not have befitted from the oil as the governor of the state.

He further denied any atrocities by his men claiming the rape claims were false.

Malong argued that the UN was missing the point by sanctioning him as he was just following orders and he had supported decisions by President Salva Kiir.

The man who appeared in a video swimming in money Lual Malong Yor Junior in the interview by Jeff Koinange stated that General Paul Malong was not his father.

He further lamented that people who called him a stepson of General Malong were abusing him.

When asked about the source of his wealth, Lual Malong Yor Junior Yor claimed that he made his money through the Lord Jesus Christ.

General Malong was adversely mentioned in the documentary by Kenyan investigative journalist John Allan Namu.

He was accused of looting, rape and death during the period that he was the Chief of staff. He was also accused of having inexplicable wealth in Kenya and Uganda and various foreign accounts.
