Why Mourinho will be in Montenegro on Thursday

Manchester United boss Jose Mourinho is set to attend Montenegro vs Serbia match on Thursday to scout two stars.

The two sides are set to meet for the first time in the UEFA Nations League, 12 years after Montenegro became independent of Serbia, making it a historic clash.

Mourinho won’t be attending the match because of Nemanja Matic as he is reportedly out injured. The Special One will get the chance to watch both Fiorentina defender Nikola Milenkovic and Lazio superstar Sergej Milinkovic-Savic in the flesh.

Midfielder Matic may well be with him on the night despite picking up a back injury during United’s dramatic comeback against Newcastle.

“Nemanja Matic did not come to Belgrade for the camp because he has a problem with his back,” Krstajic, Serbia’s manager confirmed.

Mourinho is under intense pressure due to recent poor results with reports emerging on Saturday that he was set to be sacked. However, according to reports, the former Chelsea man will meet with chief executive Ed Woodward this week to discuss his future
