Kenyans have raised concerns over the mystery behind Joseph Irungu’s career which has been partially covered by the media. Joseph Irungu came into the limelight after the public engagement with TV news anchor Jacque Maribe a couple of months ago. Even more of a figure of public interest after he was arrested as the first suspect in the murder of Monica Kimani whose body was discovered in her house with a slit throat. Shocking even that the parents and friends also do not clearly understand the nature of his job.
The parents during an interview on one of the TV stations stated that they were only aware of his job in Dubai and one instance where Irungu got a contract to work for certain politicians during the election period. It was also noted that they did not know about any Afghanistan deals as had been claimed by some of the media websites.
This being a matter of public interest, Kenyans have demanded that the investigations should expose the facts behind Irungu’s career to help in solving the murder case.
Everything that has been unfolded is claimed to simply be from social media and a few friends and those who know Joseph Irungu. A section of Kenyans believe that there is more that the public has not been told and maybe the South Sudan links had something to do with the murder. Kenyans have questioned the motive and claim that the money said to have been found as part of evidence could be linked to Monica’s death.
This far, no media house has gone out of the way to give us facts done through investigative journalism about Joseph Irungu’s career. ?

with my journalist head on, I think its too early. Investigative story takes time. It would be hurried.
