Waqo’s non-renewable six-year term is coming to an end after serving as the commission’s first Chief Executive Officer from January 2013.

The advert seen invites applications from citizens with a postgraduate degree from a recognised university and 10 years experience at a management level.

Applicants will be required to demonstrate knowledge in ethics, governance law, public administration, leadership, economics, social studies, audit, accounting, fraud, investigations, public relations, and media or religious studies.

They will also need to have a clearance certificate from the anti-graft Commission, KRA, DCI, HELB, and CRB.

Interested persons that meet the set criteria have been asked to complete EACC Form1 which is available online at jobs.integrity.go.ke and attach copies of their ID, CV, academic/professional certificate, clearances and testimonials before 30th October 2018.

In 2018, Waqo was accused by a former investigator at the commission of receiving Ksh300 million to cover the suspects of the first NYS corruption scandal.

Adan Guracha, through a suit filed at the Employment and Labour Relations Court, contested his sacking, alleging that Waqo interfered with several corruption cases by receiving kickbacks

He refuted the allegations by claiming that they were part of a wider political scheme to hound him out of office.

“They are same old political wars with unfounded allegations against me. I have already instructed my lawyers to file a comprehensive response and a defamation suit for tarnishing my name,” he stated.
