It is now nine straight wins for Arsenal and Unai Emery after a convincing display at Fulham where they emerged victors in a 5-1 encounter.
Fulham recovered to close in on advancing Xhaka after the midfielder was set through by Iwobi down the left flank in the 6th minute. That was the first time the visitors came close to scoring an opener.
Mustafi did well to block Mitrovic after Vietto saw his striker in a promising place and swung in a clinical pass. Mitrovic could not beat the German defender to score in the 7th minute.
A lively Serri chipped a free-kick into Arsenal’s box in the 18th minute and Mitrovic rose to bring in a volley. That was another chance that went begging for the home side.
Arsenal was the first side to break the deadlock just a minute before the half-hour mark. Iwobi played Monreal who cut in for Lacazette who took a touch, turned and wrong-footed Fulham goalkeeper for the opener.
Bettinnelli denied Mkhitaryan just three minutes after he was beaten by Lacazette when Welbeck went clear and brought a ball into the middle with the Armenian all looking to score but a quick reaction by the Fulham custodian denied him.
Schurle, who played Arsenal on numerous occasions while at Chelsea equalized for Fulham a minute to break. Anguissa and Vietto were at the thick of build-up before the latter sprayed a pass to the German forward who clipped over his compatriot in goal Leno.
Bettinelli saved Fulham again after the restart of the second half as Bellerin took a fine touch just outside the box. A quick reaction saw the keeper dive to his right to parry away the drive-by Arsenal’s fullback.
But a 49th-minute strike by Lacazette left Bettinelli helpless in goal as the Gunners centre-forward sent a shot from some 25 yards away that went through the bottom corner into the net.
Ramsey came in and spent something less than 30 seconds before he put Arsenal in full control of proceedings at the Craven Cottage. His combination with Lacazette, Aubameyang and Mkhitaryan saw the Wales international put the ball into the far corner with a sumptuous backheel just seven minutes after hour-mark.
In his trademark turn, Aubameyang collected Bellerin’s curl from the right flank before taking a touch, turn and finally a shot that yielded Arsenal’s 4th. At this time, Fulham looked tired and out of gas to deal with Gunners who were firing from all salvos.
Ramsey made another sublime run after picking the ball right in midfield before picking Aubameyang who drove into the box and scored Arsenal’s five at the Cottage. Fulham is the only Premier League side yet to keep a clean sheet since season start.
