Raila Breaks his Silence on Obado Murder case

Former Prime minister and ODM Party leader has finally broken his silence on Migori Governor Okoth Obado’s Sharon Otieno murder case.

Raila told Migori  residents on Thursday that Obado was merely a suspect who should be presumed innocent until proven by a court of law.

He was speaking in Migori where he campaigned for his party’s senatorial candidate Ochilo Ayacko ahead of the by-election scheduled for Monday October 8.

Odinga had been pivotal in brokering a “handshake” between Obado and Ayacko who have a history of political rivary.

Despite the handshake, the Governor was reluctant to endorse Ayacko after he was given the ODM ticket.

In his alibi statement, the County boss told the court that he had been in the company of Ida Odinga on the evening Sharon was killed.

The governor said he was in Nairobi when his ex-lover Sharon Otieno was murdered .

In his statement, Obado admitted he fathered Sharon’s baby but denied killing her .

He also indicated there were disagreements between him and the deceased student . Sharon allegedly wanted the governor to marry her, a proposal that he turned down .

Detectives, however, believed Obado had something to do with Sharon’s death and arrested him Fresh details have emerged regarding the gruesome killing of Rongo University student, Sharon Otieno, and her relationship with Migori governor, Zachary Okoth Obado, who is now one of the key suspects in the murder.

The governor disclosed to the detectives that he was having meetings in Nairobi the day Sharon was killed and therefore could not have been at the crime seen at the same time as was alleged.
