Miguna Reveals Why Obado was denied Bail

Lawyer Dr Miguna Miguna has accused ODM Party leader Raila Odinga and President Uhuru Kenyatta for liaising with the Directorate of Criminal investigations and Director of Public Prosecutions to ensure that Migori Governor Okoth Obado is denied bail.

According to Miguna Miguna, Raila wants Obado to continue being held in police custody so that the upcoming Migori senatorial by-elections scheduled for 8th October are rigged out.

Miguna says that Raila wants to make sure that his favourable candidate Ochilo Ayacko goes through using all means possible.

The Migori senatorial seat was declared vacant by the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) after Senator Ben Oluoch Okello succumbed to cancer.

Currently the ODM Party team led by its Secretary General Edwin Sifuna have been camping in Migori to trail around the county campaigning for Ochilo Ayacko.

Governor Obado was on Thursday denied bail by Justice Jessie Lessit on grounds that his case was still fresh and could lead to getting more links to more suspects involved in the case.

Obado is facing murder charges involving his girlfriend the slain Rongo University student Sharon Otieno.
