How Liverpool can stop Eden Hazard and Chelsea

Liverpool will have a point to prove at Stamford Bridge this Saturday when they take on Chelsea for the second time in three days.

That’s the view of Lierpool  legend Jan Molby, who says that a full-strength Reds will have a better chance of stopping Eden Hazard.

The Belgium international was the star of the show at Anfield on Wednesday, coming off the bench to inspire the Blues to a come from behind win against Liverpool in the Carabao Cup.

And the 27-year-old has hit the ground running in the league so far this season, scoring five goals in Chelsea’s six unbeaten matches.

Liverpool have themselves started their campaign in fine form, winning all six of their Premier League matches and topping the table.

The two teams are set to meet just days after their first encounter, and Molby thinks this time the result could be different.

He said, “It’s disappointing to lose any game, of course, but I think the Premier League game was always the bigger fixture out of the two meetings with the Londoners this week If anything though, I think it will only add spice to the game on Saturday. If you had to give up one of the games, you would have the said the League Cup, even though the Reds were unlucky not to beat their visitors on Wednesday.”

He wet on, “This is obviously the bigger one and I think Liverpool can live with a draw given how they have started the Premier League season, particularly with the win away at Wembley against Tottenham. There’s no need to get greedy and anything other than a defeat will be acceptable this weekend. It’s going to be a really intriguing game, either way.”

New Chelsea manager Maurizio Sarri has installed an attacking impetus on his new team, something he was known for while at Napoli.

And although Molby is tipping his former team to get revenge on their midweek loss, he has warned Klopp’s men they need to be weary of starman, Eden Hazard.

He said, “It will be tight but if anyone is more likely to win the game, then I would say it is Liverpool, but they need to careful, Eden Hazard is certainly a player who worries you. He takes possession of the ball in areas where defenders don’t want to go and he has this lovely sort of slalom way of dribbling past people with ease so he is a worry on Saturday. However, Liverpool’s midfield will be a lot more energetic on Saturday and I think they can get people around him when he does get on the ball to help keep him quiet.”
