How Kante motivated Hazard performance

Chelsea midfielder Eden Hazard in a post-match interview revealed that he had a chat with N’golo Kante on the bench who urged him to score as he did not want the game to go to penalties.

Eden Hazard came on as a 56th-minute substitute replacing Willian and went on to score the match winner in the 85th minute courtesy of a brilliant strike after getting past a lot of bodies. Both Kante and Hazard started the game from the bench with Kante coming on a little later on in the 64th minute for Mateo Kovacic.

When asked what went through his head before the scoring the goal, Hazard replied, “Just I spoke with N’Golo (Kante) on the bench and he told me he didn’t want penalties so the only option was to score. The Belgian, however, added that their encounter on Saturday holds more relevance, “I did well so we can go through now. But the game on Saturday is more important.”

Liverpool face Chelsea again on Saturday 29th September in an English Premier League clash at the Stamford Bridge in a 7:30 PM kick off.
