Migori Governor Okoth Obado’s PA Michael Oyamo who has been in police custody since 4th September has been charged with the murder of Rongo University student Sharon Otieno.
Oyamo appeared before Justice Lessy Lessit at the Milimani Law Courts in Nairobi on Wednesday where he pleaded not guilty.
The Prosecution led by Jacob Ondari now say that Oyamo is the “main man” in this case and have filed an affidavit to opposing his release on bail.
The Defence have however asked the court to release the accused person on bail though they don’t have a formal application.
They admitted having received an affidavit from the prosecution and have asked for two days to respond to it.
The Prosecution has opposed his release saying they have an affidavit to support their application.
Sharon Otieno was found dead near Kodera forest on September 5, 2018.
Homicide detectives have since revealed that Sharon was raped and stabbed 8 times on the stomach, back and neck.
