Kibera Member of Parliament Ken Okoth is seeking for legalization of marijuana in Kenya, citing that it will promote agriculture, research and value chain addition.
Okoth also says that it will Increase jobs and expand tax base as well as Protecting our indigenous knowledge and reduce impact of criminal gangs and number of petty offenders in prison.

Okoth posted on his twitter account a letter he had written to the National Assembly seeking legalization of marijuana.

His moved to writing the letter comes moments after the MPs passed the 2018 Finance bill which was passed in the parliament on Thursday and signed to become a law on Friday morning by President Uhuru Kenyatta.
