Magistrates daughter killed over love affair turned sour

Emerging detail indicate that senior resident Magistrates daughter Maribel Kapolon might have been killed over love affair that went sour between mother Caroline Kemei and former prison warder.

Director of Criminal Investigations (DCI) George Kinoti made the revelations on Tuesday as detectives pursue the Killers of the 9-year old.

Sources within DCI  revealed that the prime suspect was a former prison warder who worked in Meru and left his duties under unclear circumstances.

She had just been dropped by the school bus, and was in the company of other children when an unidentified man called her to his car.

“A day before her kidnap, someone claimed to be her uncle. Another man then called her the following day and she ran towards him and we assume she knew him,” a police officer privy to the investigations was quoted saying.

According to a security officer who saw the body, Maribel appeared to have been burnt with acid on one arm and she had cuts in her thighs.

“The body was lying face down and a part of the head had no hair. One arm appeared to have been burnt,” the officer said.

The abductors demanded a ransom of Sh500,000 after taking away the class four pupil and never communicated with the family again.
