Re-known Political analyst Mutahi Ngunyi has urged the Director of Public Prosecution (DPP) Noordin Haji should also investigate Chief Justice David Maraga after Land Justice Philomena Mwilu.

Through his weekly show, The 5th Estate, Ngunyi stated that the Judiciary is a ‘Corruption swamp that needs to be drained,’ urging President Uhuru Kenyatta to ‘revisit’.

He further said, “Uhuru should revisit it unapologetically because the public needs answers.”

The analyst highlighted three issues that need to be critically investigated, key among them being the nullification of the August General Election.

“If Maraga nullified the August election using fake documents we need answers. Did the Supreme Court have any contact with the Opposition during the nullification?

“Did Mwilu do corruption as alleged by the DPP? We need closure to this particular claim,” he noted.

Ngunyi also cast aspersions on DCJ Mwilu’s trustworthiness due to the fact that almost all her lawyers are allied to NASA.

“A wicked man will run when no one is chasing him but a righteous man is as bold as a lion as the Bible has taught us.

“If Mwilu is righteous, she should just step aside and the law will set her free,” he added.

Interestingly Ngunyi identified Raila Odinga as the man to ‘slay the dragon.’

In his view, if Odinga supports the President’s crackdown on corruption, ‘the monster’ will fall.

Last week, the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) protested the arrest of Mwilu over graft allegations saying due process was not followed.

Through a statement signed by the party’s Secretary General Edwin Sifuna, the party reiterated its dedication towards fighting corruption but maintained that this will only succeed if it’s anchored on the rule of law.
