Gor Mahia’s fixtures postponed

The Kenya Premier League has postponed K’Ogalo’s coming fixtures after the Champions complained of an overload of games.

Gor Mahia were to face Zoo FC on the 5th of September(Wednesday) but the match has been pushed forward and will be played on the 4th of October. The KPL has also postponed Gor’s clash with Thika United that will now be played on the 16th of September. The announcement was made by KPL via its official portal.

Gor Mahia was knocked out of the Shield Cup tournament on Sunday, just four days after crashing out of the CAF Confederation Cup tournament under the hands of USM Algiers and congestion of fixtures has been a huge matter of contention for the club.

Gor Mahia coach Dylan Kerr has blamed the team’s poor run in knock-out competitions to their congested fixture list.

The record Kenya Premier League champions were knocked out of the CAF confederations Cup when they went 2-1 down to USM Alger of Algeria before suffering the same fate to Kariobangi sharks in the SportPesa Shield tournament just four days later.

After the Sharks elimination, the Gor Mahia tactician went to Social Media to partly hail his charges for the fantasic season they have had but also lamented on the team’s congested fixture schedule that saw the team play 20 matches in the space of 60 days.
