Liverpool will consider selling the naming rights of their new training base.

Liverpool’s current training base is located in Melwood and the youth training base is located in Kirkby. The Merseyside club plans to invest £50 million to expand the Kirkby training base and combine the two bases into one. The project is expected to be completed in the summer of 2020, and Liverpool is open to the naming rights to sell new bases.

In 2013, Manchester United sold the naming rights of the Carrington training base to AON, the US insurance giant. The contract period is 8 years, and the Red Devils earn 15 million pounds a year. But Manchester United also allowed the company to display the logo on top of their training suits.

Earlier this month, the club released official images of the Reds’ eye-catching new facility, due to be completed in 2020.

The key thought process behind the decision is to bring the first team and the academy together, ensuring even more of a close-knit bond at Liverpool.

Klopp’s squad will be provided with an Elite Performance Centre, while the younger age groups will also have state-of-the-art training facilities.

That’s just a minor aspect of it, though, with two gyms, a swimming pool, a hydrotherapy complex and a specialist sports rehabilitation suite also included, among numerous other additions.
