We have no offices for former commissioners, that was what Wafula Chebukati said to his former deputy Consolata Nkatha and Margret Mwachanya who resigned from the commission alongside Paul Kurgat earlier this year.
Nkatha and mwachanya attempted to return to their offices as details emerged that they had in fact sworn affidavits in support of their resignation letters to president Uhuru Kenyatta.
The EBC Commissioners who resigned in April cannot resume office because they did so irrevocably by following legal and official procedures, the commission’s chair Wafula Chebukati says.
The commission as it stands today is officially dead and being surprised at it, is equal to the parents who were shocked by social media’s “#IFIKIEWAZAZI”.

He told journalists that the two first went to the IEBC offices in Anniversary Towers last Friday, saying he was surprised they had retained their keys, which they used to gain entry. Ms Maina and Ms Mwachanya returned to the offices yesterday morning and requested to see Chebukati.
“I didn’t manage to see them but I asked them to go and put in writing what they want to see me about. If and when they do so, then we shall address the issues they may want to deal with,” Chebukati said.
#CrookedChebukati ; Mwachanya ;The commission’s boardroom has turned into a place of money peddling, misinformation that has construed mistrust and chasing individual glory.

In his statement sent to newsrooms, Mr Chebukati has rejected the resumption of office by former vice chair Consolata Maina and Commissioner Margaret Mwachanya pointing to their adherence to IEBC resignation procedures and the constitution.

Ms Maina and Ms Mwachanya resumed duty by taking advantage of a High Court ruling, obiter dictum, which stipulated that they did not follow the due process in resignation.
Justice Wilfrida Okwany asserted that what the trio did was just tender resignation via the press, and that they did not notify the appointing authority.
Chebukati wants to Musevenize the IEBC , he is treating it like personal property.#CrookedChebukati

To this regard, Justice Okwany’s ruling in petition No 212 2018 was that the three are valid IEBC commissioners who should undertake the duties.
This is Kenya , when someone calls for an internal audit, he/she is trying cover up or distract Kenyans from something.#CrookedChebukati
