Jurgen Klopp admits to being ‘unfamiliar’ with Ozil but still defends him

Klopp: I am not familiar with Özil, but I definitely believe his loyalty to the motherland.

Liverpool coach Klopp recently spoke in an interview with Germany’s Sport1, talking about the photo of Mesut Ozil, Iker Gundogan and the Turkish president, and the subsequent series of disturbances that caused Ozil to withdraw from the national team.

“I know Gundogan very well. I know very well about Emre-Can and Nuri Sahin. I am not very familiar with Ozil, but I really want to bring him to my team. These players are definitely for us.” They have loyalty to their motherland. I have no doubt about this.”

“The problem is that they represent diversity. What is the problem? This is a very good thing. When we were in the 2006 World Cup, we all felt that cultural diversity is a good thing.

I saw some very good advertisements. For example, Gyan Asamoah’s parents and Mario Gomez will have a barbecue party together.”

“We all know that diversity is a good thing. Now two players are lured by a politically embarrassing guy, and he took a photo, and then they have no chance to say things right.”

“This is a classic case of ‘wrong information’, people don’t get the right information. Erdogan used this photo, and many others are the same. In politics, small things often become big things, but the big things are Being put aside.

The average smart person will choose silence, because it is not easy to say that it is completely correct. I think that’s the same with me. Now I am talking about people who don’t know what they are talking about.”
