Manchester United to Open Old Wounds By Signing Arsenal Superstar

Manchester United are reportedly among the clubs monitoring the contract situation of Arsenal midfielder Aaron Ramsey. The Wales international has just 11 months left on his existing deal with the north London side and this has supposedly alerted the United hierarchy.

According to The Sun, United are keeping tabs on the proceedings of the Wales international, who came close to joining the club during the summer of 2008. Apparently, Ramsey has failed to find a breakthrough in terms of a new deal with the Gunners and United could potentially pounce on his signature in January, should he continue with his contract standoff.

Earlier in the summer, Mourinho hinted that the club could pursue two central midfielders in the transfer window but they eventually signed only one in the form of Fred after Marouane Fellaini decided to end his contract standoff with the club.

As such, there is not any urgency for another signing with the department already stocked and it would certainly come as a surprise, if United are to raid for a second Arsenal player in as many seasons.

Fred, Nemanja Matic and Paul Pogba are very much certain to become the midfield choices when fit whilst Fellaini, Ander Herrera, Andreas Pereira and Scott McTominay are all present to provide the necessary backup.

The Devils snapped Alexis Sanchez, Arsenal’s best player in January. Even though the Chilean has not enjoyed much success, he is Arsenal fans’ most hated player in history and the latest development could see some of them commit suicide.

In 2012, Robinson Van Persie, then Arsenal Captain ditched the Emirates for Old Trafford and went ahead to win the league in his first season, almost emerging the Top scorer, a fate he had not achieved in his seven year stay at the Emirates.
