Ex-Super Eagles player and assistant coach, Sylvanus Okpala has told the Minister of Youths and Sports Development, Solomon Dalung that if the leadership crisis in the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) was not settled, it could plunge the nation’s football into an abyss. According to him, a ban by the Federation of International Football Association, FIFA, could be indefinite which has the capacity to truncate efforts made so far to salvage the sport in the country by statekeholders.
In a chat with Vanguard, Okpala said: “I disagree with those who said a ban would put the country in a better position to reorganise its house. That is a wrong position because the ban could be indefinite. You cannot tell FIFA how many months, years or decades a ban should last.
