Roma are holding out for £67million for goalkeeper Alisson after Liverpool opened the bidding for the Brazil No.1.
The Anfield club lodged an offer of £62m on Tuesday as they bid to replace the error-prone Loris Karius.
But the Serie A side want to squeeze another £5m out of the Premier League side, according to reports in Italy.
Liverpool are also set to face competition from Chelsea who want to sign Alisson as a replacement for Thibaut Courtois.
The Belgian keeper looks set to join Real Madrid having failed to extend his contract at Stamford Bridge.
