James Rodriguez could return to Real Madrid as he feels he can get more minutes under Julen Lopetegui according to his stepfather Juan Carlos Restrepo.
Rodriguez joined Bayern Munich on a two-year loan deal last summer but is believed to be keen on a return to the Spanish capital.
Indeed, Restrepo revealed that Rodriguez has already been in contact with Lopetegui.
“They talked about it 15 days ago or so. It was a brief but fruitful conversation,” Restrepo said.
“We’ve analyzed what Lopetegui tries to accomplish with his teams, and I believe that his style favours players who try to dazzle people with their skills, such as is James’ case. Considering all options, we believe that James could have much more minutes under Lopetegui at Real Madrid.”
