Chelsea transfer news: Real Madrid expect Thibaut Courtois to seal deal for bargain price

Chelsea goalkeeper Courtois is being eyed by Real Madrid as a replacement for Keylor Navas, who could be moved on.

The Belgium international wants to quit Stamford Bridge for a La Liga return due to a desire to see his family more, who are located in Madrid.

Chelsea face a fight to keep Courtois who, back in February, admitted he missed his family.

“My personal situation is related to the city of Madrid,” he said. “My two children live there with their mum.

“I have my daughter every day on FaceTime. She often tells me that she misses me. My son is still too small to communicate like that.

“Whenever I have the opportunity, I try to return to Spain. As a situation, it is not always easy.

“Yes, my heart is in Madrid. It is logical and understandable.”

And Libertadigital, a Spanish news outlet, have claimed Real expect Chelsea to sell Courtois on the cheap.

That is because the shot-stopper’s contract expires in 2019.

Chelsea are reluctant to let him go for nothing and, as a result, are willing to accept an offer of just £35million.

That would make him Real’s most-expensive goalkeeper of all time.

And Chelsea already appear to be preparing for his exit.

Roma’s Alisson Becker is their No 1 target but reports have claimed Liverpool are now above them in the race for his signature.

And they have also been tipped to re-sign Petr Cech from Arsenal.
