Burnley to Worsen Swansea’s woes

Burnley have continued their interest in signing midfielder Sam Clucas from Swansea City.

The player has spent one season at the ‘Swans’ after joining from Hull City, and was a maintay in their Premier League campaing last season as he made 29 appearances in the league.

However, with the club being relegated to the Championship, it seems as though Clucas is wanting to return to top flight football.

The Welsh club are reportedly expecting to receive a fee of £12 million for the 27 year-old in order ot let him leave, and Burnley manager’s long-standing admiration of the player means that a deal could be likely.

Burnley are preparing to play in their first ever European campaign after they finished in 7th position in the premier League last season, and therefore would need to improve their squad depth to deal with the extra games should they qualify for the group stage of the competition.

Sean Dyche’s men will play Scottish outfit Aberdeen in their second round of qualification for the tournament, with the first leg of the tie being played at Pittodrie on 26th July before the return leg a week later.
