West Ham star Manuel Lanzini out for whole of next season

Manuel Lanziniis set to miss the whole of next season as the full extent of his knee injury emerges.West Ham’s skilful Argentinian could be out for up to 15 months in a terrible blow for the player and his club.

Forward Lanzini, 25, was initially told he could be back in under a year after rupturing cruciate ligaments in the build up to the World Cup.

But the situation is now being described as a ‘cruciate plus’ – meaning he faces much longer on the comeback trail.Lanzini was hurt in training with the South Americans just a week or so before the tournament kicked off in Russia.

He is a key player for The Irons and is seen as the pivotal figure at the heart of the team.
