Ighalo: ‘Nigeria’s clash against Argentina will be war’

Nigeria striker Odion Ighalo has insisted Tuesday’s crunch Group D clash against Argentina will be a ‘war’.

The two nations meet in St. Petersburg this evening with a place in the last-16 at stake. Argentina must win to secure their qualification while a draw would suffice for the ‘Super Eagles’.

Ahead of kick-off, Ighalo told ‘BBC’: “It’s going to be war [and] a final of finals because they need to win. They are going to come all out and [use] every tactic that they know to win a game.

“I am expecting it to be a very tough game but I think we are capable of qualifying”.

Iceland and Croatia face off in the other Group D match. If the island nation were to beat their opposition, as well as Argentina securing a victory, qualification would come down to goal difference.
