After a disastrous start to the group where the two time World Cup winners drew 1-1 with Iceland in their opening game and were then convincingly beaten 3-0 by Croatia, changes to the Argentina line-up by manager Jorge Sampaoli were expected and reports suggest he has dropped several players. Argentina will start the match knowing only three points will be enough to help them qualify for the knockout stages, if Iceland fail to beat Croatia.
According to respected outlet La Nacion, Sampaoli’s team will be: Franco Armani, Gabriel Mercado, Nicolas Otamendi, Marcos Rojo, Nicolas Tagliafico, Enzo Perez, Javier Mascherano, Ever Banega, Angel Di Maria, Lionel Messi and Gonzalo Higuain.
