Two men banned for making Nazi salutes during World Cup in Russia

Two men have received football banning orders after they were identified performing Nazi salutes in videos taken while in Russia for the World Cup.

Michael Herbert, appeared at Leicester Magistrates’ Court on Saturday and was given a five-year ban after he and two other men were filmed making the gesture and singing an anti-Semitic song, the National Police Chiefs’ Council said in a statement. His conspirators appeared at Leeds Magistrates Court, but their case was adjourned until Tuesday.

In a separate incident, Paul Johnson, was handed a three-year ban after he was filmed making the salute on a train near Moscow on June 17.
