World champions Germany got their campaign back on track after they beat Sweden 2-1 in a last-minute strike by Toni Kroos. But what caught the attention during the high-octane clash was Swedish boss losing his cool and getting engaged in a tussle with German business manager Oliver Beirhoff. This happened after Toni Kroos scored the winner in the last-minute.
The German celebrations did not go down well with Andersson. Some Germans also ran into the pitch which Andersson felt was wasting of time.
“Some of the group leaders of their team celebrated by running in our direction, rubbing it into our faces by making gestures,” Andersson said.
“That really got me annoyed and angry. We had fought it out for 90 minutes and at the end you should shake hands. So I was very angry with that. People behaved in ways that were not good. You should leave your opponents to feel sad. You do not act in the way they did. We reacted very strongly. ,” he added.
Andersson also added: “There are so many feelings around right now but it is the most disappointing end to a game I have ever felt.”
Earlier, Sweden broke the deadlock in the 32nd-minute, thanks to Oli Toivonen before Marco Reus equalised three minutes into the second-half.
And then, it was Toni Kroos who came up with the winner to see Germany beat Sweden. Germany had lost their opener to Mexico 1-0.
