Napoli’s president deny’s Chelsea’s offer claims for Sarri

Napoli’s president Aurelio De Laurentiis has said that Chelsea have not made an offer for Maurizio Sarri. “The call from London has not arrived,” he said when quizzed about whether Chelsea have made an official approach to take manager Sarri from the Serie A side. The Partenopei have already appointed former Blues boss Carlo Ancelotti as Sarri’s successor, but the banker-turned-coach remains under contract at the Stadio San Paolo.

Sarri’s contractual situation with Napoli is expected to be sorted out by the end of June, according to Sky in Italy. Napoli have already confirmed that Carlo Ancelotti will take over from Sarri and that move will be announced officially on July 1.

Chelsea could have to pay £4.5m if they were to employ Sarri before July 1 but that figure would go up to £7m after that date. The Blues would also have to compensate current manager Antonio Conte to cover the final year of his contract.
