Arsenal star hoping to Impress Unai, kicks off preseason

Keeper Emiliano Martinez has returned for pre-season training in a bid to revive his career at Arsenal.

Martinez was sent on loan at Getafe last season after slipping behind Arsenal second goalkeeper David Ospina. Unai Emery who took over from Arsene Wenger has already completed the £22 million signing of Germany international Bernd Leno from Bayer Leverkusen, with the futures of Ospina and Petr Cech hanging on a cliff.

However, the 25-year-old who made six appearances for Getafe posted a picture of himself on Twitter on Thursday alongside goalkeeping coach Sal Bibbo and is eager to impress the new boss by battling with Leno for NO 1 spot.
