World Cup 2018: NFF reveals what is expected from Super Eagles against Iceland

President of the Nigeria Football Federation, Amaju Pinnick, has called on the Super Eagles players to “reach deep down for those qualities” when they play Iceland. The Eagles lost their first Group D fixture at the 2018 World Cup to Croatia, thanks to an Oghenekaro Etebo own goal and a second half penalty from Luka Modric. It leaves Nigeria bottom of the group with zero point, ahead of Friday’s game against Iceland.

“We expected to win against Croatia but it did not happen and the whole team, as well as the Federation, have put that behind us and looking ahead with hope to the next two matches.”Pinnick told the NFF’s official website. “I have spoken with the Coach and the players and they have confidence that the job can be done. They feel bad to have lost the first match and are determined to go out there and do what they have to do against Iceland on Friday.”he added.
