Why Kieran Trippier didn’t celebrate Harry Kane’s Goal vs Tunisia

After a difficult match against Tunisia, England managed to record a morale-boosting 2-1 win over the north Africans. The hero for England was the team’s captain Harry Kane.

Kane, who had never previously scored at a major competition, fired England ahead after just 11 minutes of the match. But Tunisia drew level with a questionable penalty in the 35th minute. Ferjani Sassi converted from the spot.

England won the match in second half injury time. Tottenham’s Kane scored a close range header after Tunisia failed to pick him up from a corner. After Kane’s winner for England, every outfield player for the Three Lions celebrated with the Tottenham striker. Everyone except for Spurs right-back Kieran Trippier. On a side-note, many believe that Trippier was England’s best player against the Tunisians.

So why didn’t Trippier celebrate with his Tottenham team mate. The answer has been linked to how the Portuguese side behaved after Cristiano Ronaldo’s free-kick against Spain last weekend.

After Ronaldo completed his historic hat-trick against La Roja, every Portuguese outfield player celebrated with their captain except one. So what’s going on? According to reports on social media, it appears that one player needs to be sacrificed during off-field goal celebrations.
