‘Everyone listens’ when Paul Pogba speaks despite the United midfielder not wearing the captain’s armband, according to France team-mate Antoine Griezmann.
“We’re expecting big things from Paul – all his touches of brilliance and his long-range goals,” he told FIFA.com.
“We’re expecting him to get the crowd on their feet. There isn’t a leader in the side, but when Paul talks, everyone listens.”
The 25-year-old has previously skippered United on a number of occasions and will be one of a handful of names in the mix to replace Michael Carrick as the club’s new captain this summer following the 36-year-old’s retirement.
Veteran Antonio Valencia is the favourite, having worn the armband more than any other player under Jose Mourinho, but Pogba has been tipped as a future United captain
The Frenchman previously revealed it was an ‘honour’ to have been handed the role by Mourinho but the pair’s relationship has come under the microscope in recent months.
Following an animated exchange on the touchline at Wembley in January, Pogba started just three of the next six games – having once been an undisputed starter.
