FIFA World Cup 2018 official song ‘Live it Up!’ is not getting much love

The official song for FIFA World Cup 2018, being held in Russia, has been unveiled. The song ‘Live it up’ by Nicky Jam also features Will Smith and Era Istrefi. The video also features the legendary Brazilian footballer Ronaldinho

However, the song has divided fans. The song has largely been panned by fans who have all sorts of issues with it.

Not many fans have been impressed by the song with some calling it the ‘worst in the World Cup history’.  Even DJ Diplo’s magic with dance numbers and Ronaldinho’s footie tricks don’t save this one.  The song has a distinct South American vibe but that fail to make it a fan favourite.

Some on social media asked how the tune’s Latin American feel fitted in with the tournament’s host country Russia – and compared it unfavourably with past efforts including Shakira’s Waka Waka theme for the 2010 contest in South Africa.

The trio will also perform ‘Live It Up’ in front of spectators before the World Cup final in Moscow on 15 July.

FIFA unveiled the song on their official Twitter handle and wrote: “It’s time to #LiveItUp, with the Official Song of the 2018 #WorldCup Russia!”
