Egypt Vs Uruguay Line Ups, Confirmed: Salah on the bench

Egypt winger Mohamed Salah is not in team’s starting XI as his side lines-up to take on Uruguay in World Cup group A second match.

Salah, who turned 26 years old today(Friday), suffered a shoulder injury during Liverpool’s Champions League final as the Reds suffered a 3-1 defeat, an injury which saw his participation for the World Cup a doubt. His boss Hector Cuper had confirmed on Thursday that the winger had recovered, tipping him to start but has not made the XI in Yekaterinburg.

Mo Salah bagged the decisive goals to fire Egypt to a first World Cup since 1990, as well as scoring 44 times for Liverpool this season in all competitions.

There is no room in the Egypt line-up for 45-year-old goalkeeper Essam El-Hadary either, as he looks to become the oldest player in finals history at Russia 2018.

Uruguay XI: Muslera; Varela, Gimenez, Godin, Caceres; Nandez, Betancur, Vecino, De Arrascaeta; Cavani, Suarez.

Egypt XI: El-Shenawy; Fathy, Gabr, Hegazi, Shafy; Elneny, Hamed; Warda, El Said, Trezeguet; Mohsen.
