Liverpool youngster reflects on the Champions League final loss

Trent Alexander-Arnold said that defeat in the Champions League final nearly cost him his first heartbreak. Liverpool lost 3-1 to Real Madrid in Kiev and the youngster reveals he would have rather embarassed himself than let Liverpool lose.

When I walked down the stage with my silver medal, past the cup obviously, you cannot describe what the feeling is like but it is the closest thing to heartbreak that I have ever had,. I was just really disappointed. I felt like I let everyone down and I am sure the rest of the lads felt like that as well,” said Alexander-Arnold.

Alexander-Arnold, who made 19 Premier League appearances and scored one goal for Liverpool last season, said he had no regrets about withdrawing from the England Under-19s squad before the campaign began.
